3.Strasbourg-Kehl: NATO- whích NATO?

Roland Ries, Strasbourg's socialist mayor, wants to turn the Alsatian Euro district into an innovative and integrated European territory. He also is one of the initiators of a Euregional Board, in which French and German Alsacians decide  democratically how these ideals will be achieved.

For the Greens from the region, both represented on it, the Board was a reason to tighten their cross border bonds. They might campaign together during the European elections as well, but their first target is another one:

• April 4th, Strassbourg-Kehl: NATO counter-summit event. The message won't be 'smash NATO', like that of many other protesters, they told us, but rather one of 'have an open debate about all aspects of a European defence'.
