16.Nienburg:

A Global Social Europe

The Greens from this Lower Sachsony town on the Weser border promote renewable energy just as fiercely as they are fighting genetically manipulated corn or the extreme right. For their European elections campaign they have invited a Dutch - and possibly also a Danish - guest to talk about how to how to  realise a more social Europe that is an example to the world.

Calendar:

22 May: Global Social in Europe? Half a million people have been called to vote their new European Parliament on 4-7 June. Are their fears of a radically market oriented and worker hostile bureaucracy justified or is there a chance of a democratic and socially just EU which they can identify with?

Public debate with Sven Giegold - candidate for the European Parliament for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, a a Dutch and maybe a Danish Green guest, other politicians and  and representatives from political parties, trade unions, and the public.

19h - Kulturwerk.
