Cross Border Cooperation and Campaigns
More and more Green branches join hands across country borders, because they face common threat – like: fighting a new coal or nuclear plant, waste incinerator, air force base or other potentially hazardous project governments like to store away at remote sites; or campaign for common challenges like cross border cycle tracks or public transport and better matching health care or social security. A Network Team puts best practices online, spots new opportunities and, upon request, is happy to assist branches in finding partners abroad.
During European elections the Network organises a Cross Border Relay Tour that links them Europe wide, to show their neighbours that the EU starts at their doorstep and to reinforce the Greens’ image of combining local action with a global approach.
If you know good examples, need any help or would like to join the cross border team, mail to crossborder@greenyourope.eu
