The European Green Party is a cooperation of 46 parties from European countries and regions inside (30) and outside (16) the European Union. They vary in size from almost 50.000 members (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) to a couple of hundred (the Polish or Luxemburg Greens). Some have difficulties getting in Parliament, others are (the Irish, Finnish, and Latvian Greens) or have been part of national governments. Whereas some still are sensitive towards any move towards a ‘European super State’, an ever growing majority is pro-European.![]()
The European Greens are Europe’s most strongly cooperating political family by far. Apart from quite detailed common EU elections’ manifestoes, it has produced vision documents on issues as far apart as climate change, migration and A Green New Deal, their common answer to the crises of our times. The EGP supports emerging parties, acts as an arbiter between parties and factions involved in conflicts, and as a sound-board for the Greens/EFA in the European Parliament. Upon request, you are welcome to attend their twince-yearly meetings.
