Team Members’ Profile
The Supporters’ Network is run by a team of 12. Of those 12, 8 represent the grassroots’ community, and 4, the external members, come from other European Green structures, such as the EGP, the Green Group in the European Parliament and the Green European Foundation. The team
- Ensures – the Action Programme is carried out
- Coordinates and facilitates – the Networks’ activities, rather than organising them
- Involves - as much as possible – Network members in the actual work, and systematically looks for newcomers who can take up responsibilities and specific tasks
- Watches over – the Networks’ main goals and priorities
- Cooperates – with member parties, EGP, Green Group in the European Parliament and other European structures.
Team work involves a considerable amount of work and skills, especially from the grassroots’ members who are responsible for the actual work. We expect from
External members
That they contribute to the Networks’ project from their specific knowledge and experience, rather than representing their organisations’ interests. They
- believe in the Networks’ project
- contribute to it from their specific knowledge and experience
- are prepared to attend at least one live meeting per year – or send a deputee
- follow the meeting reports and respond, if needed, and
- are stand-by in case their specific contribution is needed.
Grassroots representatives
that they, rather than representing their parties, take part in the borderless project – although a good geographical spread is aimed at. As a grassroots member, you
- Use your national and international contacts to help to expand the Network
- Always actively look for new people to work with us, rather than doing it all yourself
- Promote cross border and European participation actively
- Are responsible for the organisation of the Networks’ programme and projects, and
- Spot new opportunities for cross border action and exchange.
Together with the EGP committee and the member parties you
- Promote the introduction and implementation of the individual supportership of the EGP in parties, and
- Maintain contacts with EGP supporters.
The ideal grassroots team member is
- Internationally minded and eager to explore new horizons
- Capable of spotting cross border and European participation challenges
- An excellent networker with a well developed network within his party
- Capable of involving others in projects, rather than carrying them out her/himself
- Not afraid of crossing borders her/himself in order to establish new links
- At ease in English, our working language, and preferably at least one other EU language
- Prepared to put a considerable amount of time ( 4 hrs a week for team members, 6 for the treasurer and 20 for the overall coordination) and creativity into the teamwork; prepared to attend the Team’s live meetings (4 per year) and Skype conferences (once every other week) as well as the yearly plenary in November, and is
- an EGP supporter or a member of a European Green Party
If you are interested in either of the above mentioned, just send us a mail! You might not get a place straight away. But all team meetings are open and teamwork is not limited to the inner circle. Team members always may need deputees. And in case of vacancies, your experience will certainly be taken into account. Put ‘Coordination Team Candidature’ in the subject box.
