May we present: GreenYourope

New Name, refreshed Purpose & Strategy

Many of you know us as the EGP Supporters’ network, for others we stell are the Heerlen Group that started to act for a Green Europe of Citizens almost 10 years ago, a name we continued to use for our annual meetings for nostagic reasons. Yet others think we are called GreenYourope, just as this website. From now on, no more confusion.

But there is more; as the supporters’ contribution to the EGP Future project, which will be concluded in Paris with brand new statutes  and rules, we have refreshed our mission of 2002 in a new Statement of Purpose. Which, as you will see, is less shoptalky, and makes a clear choice for combining both regional action – in the Heerlen area, Europe wide dialogue and European democracy. As the European project is a historic first in supra national democracy of which no-one knows where it ends, we haven’t described our purposes in a clear-cut blueprint, but as a societal process.

A strategy for stimulating that process, and tempting points on the nearby horizon, you will find in the Goals and Strategy for 2014, the year in which the new European Parliament is elected.
