EGP congress Paris – Europe, here we Come!

European democracy is GreenYourope’s key theme during the EGP congress in Paris that starts next Friday with a speech of Eva Joly, the Green candidate for the French presidential elections in 2012.

On Friday 11/11 at 11h sharp, the network of EGP supporters will be joining a street action organised by EELV’s Eurofederalist group Fédécolos. On the Place de l’Europe, we’ll be commemorating the end of World War 1 with a call to, at last, give the European Union, which has put an end to intra-European wars, the roots in civil society it needs.

On Saturday 12, from 14 – 16h, we’ll be exploring, in a workshop co-organised with Fédécolos, how we, members of Europe’s Green parties, can make this Europe a reality: through European lists, a Citizens’ Initiative for a Constitutional Assembly, cross border actions for common causes? • All three days we’ll be present to welcome new supporters, activists, and ideas.

Central theme of the congress is A Green way out of the crisis. But democracy will be addressed as well, in a debate on Saturday 12 fom 16.30-18.30 Green Visions for Europe’s Future: with Eva Joly, Monica Frassoni, Cem Özdemir and Cécile Duflot. Click here for the programme.
