Colombia: Mockus beats records
30 May, Bogotá – With over 21 percent in the first round of the presidential elections Green candidate Antanas Mockus has written Green history: never before a Green had a serious chance to become presedent. It hasn’t become the neck-to-neck race many expected: the former mayor of Bogotá’s opponent Juan Manuel Santos obtained almost 47 percent. There are rumours of fraud. Whether they’ll be proved right or not, in the second round on 20 June Mockus faces a stiff task.
