Greece: Dany Strikes Again

When talking about the Greek crisis, the EU leaders’ main concerns seem to be their home finances and the stability of the Euro.   One of the rare exceptions was a debate in the European Parliament on May 7, starring Green leader Dani Cohn-Bendit. In this video sent to us from Greence he which he calls Merkel, Sarkozy and an embarrassed-looking Barroso ‘hypocrits’ and ‘completely mad’. ‘You ask Papandreou to reverse the entire system’ he fulminated, ‘whereas it takes France and Germany years to reform their pensions.’ A better way to save Greece from bankruptcy, he said, is to stop selling it frigates, helicopters, combat planes and submarines worth billions of euros, like France and Germany still do, and push for disarmament in the region. He also suggested to establish a European Investment and Solidarity Fund that fights corruption effectively.
